Nippon Paint MozzieGuard for my walls!

I was browsing Nippon Paint Singapore's website and their latest paint caught my attention:

Anti Mosquito Paint: Nippon Paint MozzieGuard.

"Nura, Nippon MozzieGuard for your walls....However for your ceilings, how about  Anti-Mould Ceiling White?"suggested the Nippon Paint Professional Painting Services Team.

Also to let all of you know the importance of applying a sealer BEFORE you paint!

As its name suggests, a sealer also known as primer seals the surface of the wall. Absolutely important because:
1) a sealer covers pores and hairline cracks. This creates smoother surface and better looking result.
2) a sealer ensures better adhesion for your paint, minimising the risk of flaking and peeling. Thus paint job will not only look better but last longer.
3) a sealer prevents efflorescence, also known as chalking.

SO......what are the COLOURS my family and I have chosen for the home I hear you ask...

LATTE for living/dining area
STILETTO GRAY for master bedroom
Nyla chose SNOWFLAKES
 IXORA for our study/home office

Stay tuned for the outcome....

Nippon Paint Professional Painting Services.... yet again!

Past 3 weeks have been pretty overwhelming with recent reno works done at home.
So far, I'm pretty much happy with the contractor I engaged honouring the timeline.
"Please make sure all will be ready 1 week before Raya!"
(will share with you all soon enough)

Now that reno works are done, we're moving on to another very exciting part!

Painting the living room and all 3 bedrooms.

Of course my choice would be none other than Nippon Paint Professional Painting Services.
Again.
Yes, working with them for the second time.
Because of their strong commitment to client satisfaction.👍

Gotta applaud the effort put in by Nippon Paint prepping for the paint job.
They did an on site inspection of the whole house before they started painting.
Exceptionally touched when they actually went out of their way to also inspect my bathrooms' ceilings considering that's not part of the deal.

Got hole! AAARRRRGHHHH!

And yes, they were super kind to help me fill the hole in my bathroom.
Real grateful guys.

Really love how detailed the entire team was finding and fixing wall and ceiling flaws before they commenced painting.

That, plus I don't need to worry about anything despite knowing very well that painting is going to be a messy job.

Shifting and Protection of furniture and floor were all handled so meticulously.
They make sure that everything is covered with plastic so no drops of paint will drip on my furniture and new flooring.

Masking tape around fixtures all.👍

And to think my husband actually suggested that he too can paint the house.
Rigggghhhht.
No way hozay.
He'll sure will leave tell tale signs of paint spatter....missed spots all, his DIY job surely splotchy and uneven.
Confirm.

If you want your painting needs to be superbly well taken care of, look no further.
The answer is: Nippon Paint Professional Painting Services.

Sit back and relax while the professionals do a fuss-free, no-mess paint job for your home.

Since my home is on ground floor, I have selected the Mozzie Guard Package.

Will continue to update you alls ok.
Looking forward to restoring beauty and vitality to my home just in time for Hari Raya.

One Love

"Choose me Nura J! I'm just opposite Masjid Darul Aman...Beside PKMS...Near Eunos MRT...Close to Geylang! I'm so your jodoh beb."

Indeed.

So it has been more than 1 year and Pearlistas have associated this cozy salon as the place where they can pull off surprises....relax...bond with their favourite ladies. This salon located at Icon@Changi's basement level has experienced aplenty hairrific and witnessed memorable moments.

A beaming wife receiving flowers by beloved husband.

Blindfolded bride to be.

Daughter-Mother Bonding Time and we have had mommies who have been cutting their own hair all this while going,"Kau bawak aku tempat apa ni?"

Girlfriends Time.

Pearlistas bringing yummy goodies for us!

and ultimately;
Pearlistas exclaiming after their sessions "Ooooohhhhhh I love my hair!"

Can never get sick and tired hearing that.

Also, the conversations.
I have made aplenty friends who come from all walks of life. Issues about education...children.....health...breastfeeding..sleepless nights...husbands (How 'helpful' they are at home. LOL!)... where to get good food etc.
Real nice.

Now, I'll be lying if I tell you all is good.
Of course we have faced obstacles but those difficult roads often led to beautiful destinations.
This, I always believe.

Truth be told, Pearlista is really an extension of my personality.
High energy.
'Chandi'.
Creative.
Chill....
and most importantly we both strive to be as original as can be.

Budding entrepreneurs out there, I cannot stress enough to you all the importance of being original because that is how you stay true to yourself. Be whatever you want to be. Whatever rocks your boat. Be brave.
Be weird.
Be unique.
Apa Apa la.
Just be YOU!

Competition is everywhere but the main person you should compete with is YOURSELF, always striving to be a better version of yourself everyday.

Anyone can copy your well laid out plan but they can never copy YOU!

They can never steal your mind, your voice and your thoughts.
And this will and must keep you going.

'SO NURA J, WHEN SEH PEARLISTA NAK EXPAND? JAUH TAU I TRAVEL TO EUNOS!'
The question above is the most frequently asked question.

I am a very calculated risk taker.
You girls have no idea how thorough I have been when it comes to expansion plans.
The past months, with the assistance of my husband and close friends, I have been diligent in researching what will work for Pearlista.

When I was still pregnant with Oumar, I was already scouting around for a suitable place.
Just don't wanna terburu buru.

But they say this kinda thing is 'jodoh'....

You gotta feel it in your bones like
"Ok, this is it! I can envision this place to be the next Pearlista!"

So here I am writing to give my fellow Pearlistas my affirmative answer to your question darlings.

After much searching the past months,
Pearlista Icon@Changi has finally found herself a sister.

I am very happy to inform you that to meet the growing demand for hair pampering/transformation among the ladies, we have decided to extend our business by opening a new division along with our existing salon at Icon@Changi.

Thank you ladies for all the encouragement, motivation and patience!
Lambat pe.

"Takot beb bab expand expand ni semua."

But in shaa Allah all will be fine with your continued doas and support.

Where? Mana?

Follow Pearlistasg on Instagram sisters.
Live updates and our progress will be there.

Over to you @pearlistasg.

Marvelous Manic Monday everyone.

One Love.

'Oumar Propnex'

Nyla used to follow me everywhere to work. Now that she's older and is busy with her crafts la, phone la, games la, books la, she'd rather plonk herself at home or grannies'. Dah nak masok upper primary katakan.

Her brother, Oumar has taken over. My koala this one.

Sometimes I feel very unprofessional when I bring Oumar along to presentations and viewings. :(

But NONE of my clients ever said this to me, "Nura J, please leave your baby at home. Appreciate."
NO ONE.

Every time I request to bring Oumar (and my helper, she's my P.A), I'll always get, "Sure!"
Never an objection.

So, thank you very much you alls for your understanding and never going,"Leceh betul Ah agent Nura J ni."

Really, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Here's a picture of Oumar relaxing on my client's couch.

There are going to probably be more pictures of him at different homes!

That said, if you have the intention to sell or buy, I'm always a call away, korangs.
97248866.
See you soon.

To circumcise now or later?

I am not joking when I mentioned that it was one of the most difficult decisions to make.
Probably the most.
To circumcise when Oumar is still a baby OR to wait when he's much older.

Me: How eh mom?
Mom: Kalau Mak... Senang je. Ikut sunnah. Simple. Senang.
MIL: Kalau dahde niat, buat je. Jangan tunggu2.

Still feeling uneasy, I reached out to my FB and IG friends.
And MAJORITY said, "DO NOW! SENANG WANNA JAGA TIME KECIK! IF CRY SUMBAT NENEN!"

Honestly the person most most difficult to convince is my husband.
He feels that Oumar should grow up and experience the beauty of circumcission.

Oh sang suami. Not beauty dah deh. It's PAIN.
And why would you want to torment your son like that one?

Him: you don't understand.
Me: no no. You don't understand.

I showed him all the comments on FB and IG supporting "Sunat time baby! Sunat time baby!" He had no choice but to go with it.
We must listen to experienced parents. Not listen to our hearts.

That day was nerve wrecking ok.
We proceeded with Dr Khairul Pristine Clinic. Oni's son did it there. He also happened to be my brother's friend. And his clinic is at Jurong West. Very near. If Oumar cries non stop in car at least the distance from clinic to home is near so our ears not so tortured.

I chose not to enter the room. I was outside baca Al-Fateha all the way. And yes tearing too. E was inside. He watched the whole procedure and dia cuak. Lol.
Oumar cried after that. But I was prepared because you all said the first day will be tough. So what I did was to offer my boobs to him and just sayang2 him the whole day. Never mind if my hands lenguh, it's ok. So when we returned home, I made sure I kept him very close to me. So thankful to my Kak Ana for bringing Nyla out the whole day that day too so I could really focus on Oumar. ALLAH SWT is really the best planner! Alhamdullilah!

Recovery was smooth and I'm so grateful to Oni who was there the whole time calming my anxieties. We even exchanged pictures of our sons' beberds.
Every time I got worried, I'd whatsaap her or my brother who will then msg Dr Khairul.
Ya la, I very kancheong type.

Amidst the kancheongness, am also thankful for the humour provided by none other than my mom.
Cock eh.

On the 6th day, we discovered his ring tergantung. So tempted to pull it but we were advised not to touch it. And then Oumar started crying.

E: My poor son! I'm so sorry ok we put you through this!!!

What the! He's at it again! GRRRR!

Me: no la. He's crying because his stomach is painful la. I know this cry la dy!

True enough. 5 mins later, Oumar let out a loud shart (shit plus fart)

My turn to rub in in...

Me while cradling Oumar:  No la daddy. My penis is ok! It's my tummy la. Mothers know best. (this part exceptionally loud. lol)

And then soon after his ring fell off.
YABADABADOO!

Super relieved you all have no idea.
BIG BIG Thank you my FB/IG friends for the encouragement and sharing your valuable experiences. Oni, indebted to you as well sister!
E and I really appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.

And to my husband, I know you are not in favour but thank you for trusting me.
Thank you for listening to me weigh the pros and cons and just go with it because the pros outweigh the cons. Thank you for being practical. 😘

If a mommy is in doubt whether to sunat her son time baby or time dah besar, I am now eligible to comment and advise!

My advice?
DO IT SISTER. Tawakkal. He will cry on the 1st day. Sumbat nenen and hug him the whole day if you must. Trust me, once the ring has fallen off, the relief you feel is one kind. It's like you have done a favour for your baby. He will thank you when he's older! Hehe. Good luck.

I AM A BIG BOY ALREADY! GOOD LUCK MY FRIENDS!

Oumar's Birth Day

Yes, his birth was a c-section. An elective c section.
Low lying placenta issue and I'm not the gung ho "I'M SO TRYING FOR NATURAL DELIVERY FIRST!"
Wish I was though but since there could be a possibility of bleeding la....distressed baby la...and then rushing for emergency c section....let's eliminate the potential problems and just go for the planned c sect.

The night before the op...Ya Allah...only HE knows how terrified I was. I was unusually quiet...The home was kecoh like Raya like that with E setting up the play pen all. We actually quarrelled abit because I didn't want to buy any baby stuff until Oumar is out. Besides E's family also welcomed a baby boy last year so gotta thank my SIL and BIL for the hand me downs. Stroller wise, we recycled Nyla's. LOL! 10 yr old berhabuk stroller but E did a good job sprucing it up!

Back to me being stubborn not wanting to buy any baby stuff which drove both E and Nyla crazy!

"NO! THERE IS NO WAY I AM GOING TO SHOP LIKE CRAZY ON THE DAY HE IS BORN. WE NEED TO BE PREPARED!" My husband say one.
"YA LOR MOMMY! WHAT'S THE POINT SEH COME HERE JUST TO LOOK SEE?" My daughter pulak enter frame.

I lose. So we got the playpen la the mattress la the pillows all the pump...... Basically whatever essential items.

It was also an emotional night. The night before the op. I had my moment with Nyla who has had my undivided attention for 10 years. I also told her that if anything were to happen to me, always keep me in her prayers sedekahkan al-fateha because that's the only way you can reach out to someone who has passed on. Yes, we both hugged and cried like no one's business. More like we WAILED together.

E had to spoil the moment by saying, 'You both so drama, so ridiculous."

Lol. Anyway, bersyukur sangat everything turned out fine. Alhamdullilah.

Being in the operating theatre was scary mary. So many people. Doctors...Nurses...Paed on standby for Oumar...And I forgot how uncomfortable taking the epidural was! When all was settled, that was when they called "Dr Esman" in.
Yup, the most excited chillax doctor, no doubt.

The next thing I knew, I was getting punched in the stomach, but without the pain. The tugging all.

And the next thing I heard was my gynae, Dr Citra Mattar say,"Ok Esman, are you ready with your camera? Baby is gonna be out real soon."
Ma shaa Allah, my heart was beating so fast. Like my son is coming out my son is coming out!!!!!!
E immediately stood up and started clicking away!
"How come he's snapping photos when I never hear my baby cry? Why is my baby not crying?

And then a minute later that most most most awaited UUUUUUWEEEEEKKKKK sound was heard. Alhamdullilah. Yes I cried. I cannot describe to you how relieved I was when Oumar was delivered. He looked exactly like Nyla when she first came out. The sembabness all. Only that he has more hair. Hehehe.

E sat down back. "Wah miiiiii, just now Dr Citra bluff seh. She said baby coming out soon. When I stood up and nak amik gambar, no baby la! Dorang still godeh godeh your stomach! I saw your open tummy blood all! Cuak seh! So I just snap snap snap la!"

This man is seriously so kecoh.

The C sect really wasn't scary as I had imagined.
Recovery was good. Just whack on the painkillers and yes, gulp the essence of fish. (I still wanna vomit whenever I imagine myself gulping it down)
Even the scar....is barely there.
It was really such an amazing birth outcome.
Great gynae  (Dr Citra) perhaps? Yes definitely.
Good choice with the hospital (NUH)? Also yes.
They are so pro breastfeeding. Very encouraging. I actually extended my hospital stay.
5 days 4 nights. Yup, macam pergi holiday. I just wanna make sure I get ample rest. No kecoh kecoh. With Nyla, I only spent 1 night at the hospital and when I'm home, it was chaotic. Serik seh.

Ok I wish I can type somemore but got to go. Somebody is screaming, "I NAK SUSU MOMMY! NOW NOW NOW!"
